Toccara “Cara” Scott was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan. At the age of 10 her parents decided to let her start voice lessons/training to be an opera singer. After graduating from high school, Cara went on to pursue her opera career by studying with Meredith Woodend, who has sung with San Francisco’s Merola Opera, Santa Fe Opera and Orlando Opera, to name a few. Cara is currently studying with Edward Washington, who is the Musical Director of the Negro Spiritual Foundation.
