FRESH 4 A CURE

Phat Girl Fresh partnered with Kawambee Dorsey a very talented makeup artist and Todra Mcghee a highly skilled hair stylist, for the “FRESH 4 A CURE” initiative.  The “Fresh 4 A Cure” initiative is a way to honor women who are living with or through illnesses such as breast cancer and lupus.  On a personal note I know that breast cancer is a horrible disease that has the potential to reduce you to nothing. From losing hair to nausea and fatigue, many women get lost in the illness.  Our goal is to do things to give them a little uplift, in spite of their situation.  Today, we had the pleasure of giving one deserving survivor a fresh look and a plenty of laughs.  I know that she felt that we were blessing her but in all honesty, being in her presence was a blessing to us.   With a smile as radiant as the sun, a testimony of unwavering faith, it is without question that she is, PHAT GIRL FRESH!!!

Parthenia Starling- Williams is a wife, a mother, a sister, a friend but most of all she is a child of God…….. And SHE IS A SURVIVOR!  At the age of 40, Parthenia was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer.  Despite her diagnoses, she continued to trust God and remain positive.  In the midst of her storm, Parthenia has managed to be a source of positive energy for many women who share her struggle.  She is quick to admit that she had her down moments where she was depressed and discouraged but her trust in God always brought her back to that place of hope and faith.  She says that although it is strange, having cancer taught her to appreciate greater things such as friends, family and life. At the age of 42, Parthenia is newly married and very optimistic about life and all that it holds for her.  She is proof that a positive attitude can brighten any dark situation.

It was an honor to have been able to do something to brighten Parthenia’s day.  She received a haircut, color and curl from Todra, professional makeup from Kawambee and a gift bag loaded with goodies from Phat Girl Fresh. This is only a small token for being a resource of knowledge, courage, faith and hope.

Friday May 17, 2013 Michael Keith held his first annual "I'm Just Saying" Fashion Show to raise money for Lupus Awareness.  The show which was held at La Fais Do Do was a huge success  filled with fashion and celebrities, all for a great cause.  As a media outlet, a image consultant and a aspiring designer, I have to admit, I was in heaven.  I made a lot of connections and I learned a great bit.  Melinda Santiago and the S, Firm did an amazing job of bring this event to life from the model calls all the way to the actual event, I was pleased. TO READ MORE AND SEE ALL OF THE PHOTOS, CLICK THE LINK BELOW;

MICHAEL KEITH PRESENTS................. I'M JUST SAYING

The "I'm Just Saying" fashion show will be held on May 17, 2013 at Le Fais Do-Do which is located at 1611 Ellsworth Industrial Blvd Atlanta, GA 30318. Doors will open at 6:30pm.  Red Carpet will start promptly at 7pm until 8pm.  Cocktail Hour followed by the Fashion Show will be from 8pm until 10pm. The fashion show will consist of National and local designers of everything from urban wear to couture. There will be models from across the country werking  the runway.   There will also be a number of celebrities from the Atlanta area i.e. Erica Dixon, Dondria, KiddFlash, Blue Kimble, Reigndrop Lopes, Cori Sims, and Nia Moore PLUS MANY MORE CELEBRITIES TO WALKS AND MANY MORE GREAT SURPRISES.
