I received a call from one of my customers on New Year’s Eve asking if I had any knowledge of a new plus size boutique in town (Albany, Georgia), my answer was “nope.”  She and I both were thinking the same thing, surely if there was a new plus size boutique in town I would know.  Wrong!!!!!  Yes, Albany does have a new plus size boutique and its name is Honeysuckle Hill. 

After speaking with the owner Amanda Bennett, I decided to take a trip to Honeysuckle Hill.  I must admit, I was very pleased.  The decor was amazing and so were the clothes.  I really applaud Amanda for stepping out of the box because honestly most plus size boutiques have the same inventory.  I tried on three pieces, which were pretty true to size, which is rare with plus size clothing you find in most boutiques. 

 

Overall I give Honeysuckle Hill an A+!!! WEIGHT WARS.... to be curvy or not!!

My question to my curvy cuties is how happy are you with who your are?  Are you happy with your curves or are you preparing to transition into that skinny chick?  What is your view on women like Monique, Star Jones and Rickey Lake;  who traded their curves for a much slimmer frame?    Do you believe that there is a such thing as losing too much weight?  When you diet and exercise do you pay attention to the changes that happen to you other than your waist getting smaller?  I know that I have dieted several times and I am still changing my habits and exercising. Spring has sprung in spite of the weather that we are experiencing across the globe.  It is time to start packing up those sweaters and pulling out short sleeve tops.  It is time for spring break vacations, walks on the beach and pool/day parties.  None of this will be complete without a swim suit of some kind.  Now I know from my own personal actions that this is the time when some curvy cuties either stay home, avoid certain events or pull out the shorts and the long tee shirt(bogus swim suit substitutes).  Well, not this year.... that is what I am declaring right here right now! AFW 2K12 "Dangerous Curves"

Woman of God, single mother, retail specialist, fashion show coordinator, modeling coach, makeup artist and model; these are all nouns that describe India Castleberry.  India was a model in Albany Fashion Week 2K12 "Dangerous Curves" Show. Although last year was AFW's premier, the 28 year old curvy cutie is no stranger to the runway. She has been featured in a number of shows including a popular Christian show, "Christ Rocks".  During last years AFW "Dangerous Curves" Show many designers, including myself were eager to work with her and she obliged everyone.  She strutted her curves up and down the runway one scene after another with the bold, confidence that makes her the epitome of P.H.A.T GIRL FRESH. There are those who my look at this kind spirited individual and not see a full figured woman. However, they can't deny her captivating curves or her ability to WERK! Whether it is modeling, coordinating shows, training models or beating faces.... "FASHION LIVES", in India A. Castleberry!!!
